The
Deadliest Days & Times To Drive
Drivers need
to be particularly alert on what the agency has found to be the
deadliest dates, days of the week, and even times of day to be on
American highways and roads.
Although circumstances (like workplace commute) will often
dictate when you must be on the road, you should, nevertheless, try to
avoid driving during the most dangerous times of the day and you must
avoid unnecessary distractions. When
driving, focus on the road and don't talk on a cell phone that's not
hands-free, don't eat or drink, and -- please --don't read or send
e-mails (Yes!
drivers have been seen and sometimes arrested for reading and/or
sending text
messages and many times we can see commuters actually
reading their morning newspaper!!!). The
bottom line is that you and all other motorists need to be extra
cautious when driving regardless of the time of day. You are never
safe!
Defensive driving must be practiced every hour of every day.
Defensive driving, of course leads to fewer accidents which
improves your driving safety record on file with your insurance
company. Considering the fact that your safety record is one
of the primary rating factors in auto insurance costs, it'll pay you to
exercise caution, use your car's safety equipment. Needless
to say??? you should never drive after drinking!!! Deadliest
